As enterprise networks scale to support wireless access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, and a growing fleet of IoT endpoints, the access layer switch must deliver power, performance, and programmability without compromise. The Cisco C9300-24P-A is purpose-built for exactly this challenge.
Part of the Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series — Cisco's lead stackable enterprise access switching platform — the C9300-24P-A provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports with 445W of available PoE power from the included 715W AC power supply. A modular uplink slot accepts optional 1G, 10G, or 40G network modules, giving you the flexibility to align uplink capacity with your distribution or core infrastructure today and upgrade non-disruptively as bandwidth demands grow.
With 208 Gbps of switching capacity and a 154.76 Mpps forwarding rate, the C9300-24P-A handles wire-speed traffic across all ports. Cisco StackWise-480 technology lets you combine up to eight Catalyst 9300 switches into a single logical switch with 480 Gbps of stacking bandwidth, dramatically simplifying management while boosting resiliency. The Network Advantage license unlocks the full Cisco IOS XE feature set, including advanced Layer 3 routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP, plus complete Cisco SD-Access and DNA Center integration for intent-based networking. Built on an x86 CPU architecture with 8 GB DRAM and 16 GB Flash, this switch is ready for container-based application hosting and advanced telemetry — a future-proof investment for campus, branch, and secure access deployments.
Features & Benefits
High-Density PoE+ Access
All 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports support IEEE 802.3at PoE+ at up to 30W per port, enabling single-cable deployment of wireless APs, IP phones, surveillance cameras, and IoT sensors. The included PWR-C1-715WAC-P power supply delivers 445W of available PoE power out of the box, and the switch supports a second power supply slot for redundancy or increased PoE budget.
StackWise-480 & StackPower
Cisco StackWise-480 enables you to stack up to eight C9300 switches into a single logical unit with 480 Gbps of stack bandwidth, providing unified control-plane management, cross-stack EtherChannel, and sub-second failover. Cisco StackPower allows power supplies across stacked switches to be shared, increasing overall power availability and reducing the need for per-switch redundant PSUs.
Modular Uplink Flexibility
A dedicated network module slot on the front panel accepts Cisco Catalyst 9300 and compatible Catalyst 3850 network modules. Options include the C9300-NM-4G (4x 1G), C9300-NM-8X (8x 10G), C9300-NM-2Q (2x 40G), and C9300-NM-4M (4x Multigigabit), letting you tailor uplink capacity to your network design and upgrade without replacing the switch.
Network Advantage Licensing
The Network Advantage license delivers the full Cisco IOS XE feature set, including advanced Layer 3 routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS, PBR), MPLS, VXLAN, and full Cisco SD-Access support. This is the highest-tier perpetual license for the Catalyst 9300, enabling complete integration with Cisco DNA Center for policy-based automation, assurance, and analytics.
Built-In Security & Programmability
Hardware-anchored security features include Cisco Trust Anchor, Secure Boot, image signing, and MACsec (802.1AE) encryption. The x86 CPU architecture with 8 GB DRAM and 16 GB Flash supports on-box application hosting via Docker containers, Cisco ThousandEyes integration, and advanced telemetry with Flexible NetFlow and Encrypted Traffic Analytics (ETA).
Deployment Scenarios
Enterprise Campus Access Layer
Deploy the C9300-24P-A at the campus access layer to connect and power wireless access points, VoIP phones, and user workstations. StackWise-480 simplifies management across wiring closets, while Network Advantage licensing enables full SD-Access segmentation and policy enforcement from Cisco DNA Center.
Branch Office Consolidation
Use the C9300-24P-A as a compact, all-in-one branch switch that provides PoE+ for APs and phones, Layer 3 routing for local traffic, and modular uplinks for WAN connectivity. Stacking two units provides redundancy without the complexity of separate distribution-layer hardware.
Secure IoT & Surveillance Deployments
Power and connect IP cameras, badge readers, environmental sensors, and other IoT endpoints with PoE+. Cisco TrustSec and SGT-based segmentation isolate IoT traffic from the corporate network, while Encrypted Traffic Analytics detects threats in encrypted flows without decryption.
Healthcare & Education Facilities
Support high-density wireless environments in hospitals, clinics, and classrooms where reliable PoE+ for access points is critical. The Catalyst 9300's optimized 802.11ac Wave2 support and advanced QoS ensure low-latency connectivity for clinical applications, video collaboration, and student devices.
