Product Highlights
What's Included
(1) Rackmount Kit (RCKMNT-1RU)
Managing a growing network with PoE-powered devices like IP phones, wireless access points, and security cameras demands a switch that delivers both power and performance without compromise. The Cisco WS-C3750G-24PS-S is a Catalyst 3750G Series stackable Layer 3 switch purpose-built for exactly this challenge.
This managed Gigabit Ethernet switch provides 24 x 10/100/1000 PoE ports with IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet and 4 x SFP uplink ports for flexible fiber connectivity — all in a compact 1RU rack-mountable chassis. With a 32 Gbps switching capacity and a 38.7 Mpps forwarding rate, the WS-C3750G-24PS-S delivers wire-speed performance for converged voice, video, and data environments.
Cisco StackWise technology sets this switch apart, enabling you to stack up to 9 units via a dedicated 32 Gbps stack interconnect and manage them as a single logical switch. The IP Base (IPB) software image includes Layer 3 routing capabilities such as static routing, RIP, and HSRP, along with enterprise-class QoS, comprehensive security features, and advanced traffic management. Ideal for enterprise branch offices, mid-sized business access layers, and wiring closet deployments, the Catalyst 3750G-24PS-S simplifies network operations while delivering the reliability and scalability that IT teams depend on.
Note: This product model (WS-C3750) has reached End-of-Life (EOL) status with Cisco. It remains a proven, cost-effective solution for lab environments, budget-conscious deployments, and network expansions where existing 3750 stacks are in place.
Features & Benefits
Power over Ethernet (PoE)
All 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports support IEEE 802.3af PoE, delivering up to 15.4W per port to power IP phones, wireless access points, and surveillance cameras directly through the Ethernet cable. This eliminates the need for separate power adapters and electrical outlets at each device location, reducing deployment costs and simplifying cable management.
Cisco StackWise Technology
The 32 Gbps StackWise interconnect allows you to combine up to 9 Catalyst 3750 switches into a single logical switching unit. The entire stack is managed through a single IP address and configuration file, dramatically reducing administrative overhead. Cross-stack features like EtherChannel, VLAN spanning, and QoS policies operate seamlessly across all stack members.
Layer 3 Routing & IP Base Image
The IP Base (IPB) feature set delivers hardware-accelerated Layer 3 routing via Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF). Supported routing protocols include static routing, RIP, and HSRP for gateway redundancy. Inter-VLAN routing is handled in hardware, eliminating the need for a dedicated router and reducing network complexity and cost.
Enterprise Security & QoS
Comprehensive security features include 802.1X port-based authentication, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, and extensive ACL support. Granular QoS with per-port traffic shaping, priority queuing, and classification ensures that latency-sensitive voice and video traffic receives priority treatment across the network.
High-Performance Switching Fabric
With a 32 Gbps switching capacity and 38.7 Mpps forwarding rate, the WS-C3750G-24PS-S provides non-blocking, wire-speed performance across all ports. A 12K MAC address table and support for up to 1,005 VLANs ensure the switch can handle complex enterprise network topologies without performance degradation.
Deployment Scenarios
Enterprise Branch Office Access Layer
Deploy the WS-C3750G-24PS-S as the access-layer switch in branch offices where PoE-powered IP phones and wireless APs are standard. The integrated Layer 3 routing and StackWise capability allow branch networks to scale without adding dedicated routers or complex management overhead.
VoIP and Unified Communications Deployment
Power Cisco IP phones and other UC endpoints directly from the switch using IEEE 802.3af PoE. Built-in QoS features prioritize voice traffic to ensure call quality, while auto-negotiation and auto-MDIX simplify endpoint connectivity.
Networking Lab and Training Environment
As an EOL product available at significant cost savings, the WS-C3750G-24PS-S is an excellent choice for CCNA/CCNP lab environments. Full Layer 3 functionality, StackWise support, and a rich IOS feature set provide hands-on experience with enterprise-grade Cisco switching technology.
Stack Expansion for Existing 3750 Deployments
Organizations with existing Catalyst 3750 or 3750-E stacks can add the WS-C3750G-24PS-S to expand port density and PoE capacity. StackWise technology ensures the new unit integrates seamlessly into the existing stack with unified management.

Compatibility Notes
Stacking Compatibility: The Catalyst 3750G can be stacked with other Cisco Catalyst 3750 and 3750-E Series switches using StackWise technology. A StackWise cable (e.g., CAB-STACK-50CM, CAB-STACK-1M, or CAB-STACK-3M) is required for stacking and is not included.
SFP Module Compatibility: The 4 SFP ports accept standard Cisco 1G SFP modules such as GLC-SX-MMD, GLC-LH-SMD, GLC-T, and GLC-SX-MM. SFP modules are not included.
Redundant Power: Compatible with the Cisco RPS 2300 (PWR-RPS2300) redundant power system for enhanced availability.
Software: Ships with IP Base (IPB) feature set. Upgradable to IP Services (IPS) with the appropriate license.
EOL Notice: The WS-C3750 model has reached Cisco End-of-Life. Cisco SmartNet support may no longer be available for new contracts. Verify current support status before purchase if active TAC support is required.
