The CISCO1921-T1SEC/K9 is a purpose-built Cisco 1921 Integrated Services Router bundle that ships with the HWIC-1DSU-T1 WAN interface card pre-installed, a Cisco IOS Security technology package license, 512MB DRAM, and 256MB Flash memory.
Built on the proven Cisco ISR Generation 2 (ISR G2) platform, the Cisco 1921 provides two onboard Gigabit Ethernet ports, two EHWIC expansion slots, and embedded hardware-based encryption acceleration for IPsec and SSL VPN. The included Security license unlocks advanced features such as zone-based firewall, Dynamic Multipoint VPN (DMVPN), and intrusion prevention — enabling secure branch-to-headquarters connectivity right out of the box.
The integrated HWIC-1DSU-T1 card eliminates the need for an external CSU/DSU by combining T1/Fractional T1 WAN termination into a single EHWIC-slot module with an RJ-48 connector. This simplifies cabling, reduces rack footprint, and allows unified SNMP management of both the router and the DSU/CSU. With one EHWIC slot still free, the Cisco 1921 can be expanded with additional serial, Ethernet, voice, or wireless modules — protecting your investment as business requirements evolve.

Expansion Compatibility: The remaining free EHWIC slot supports single-wide EHWIC and HWIC modules. A double-wide EHWIC module will consume both slots and is therefore not available when the HWIC-1DSU-T1 is installed.
