This simplifies configuration, enhances resiliency, and scales bandwidth without adding management complexity. With 17.8 Mpps forwarding performance and Layer 3 routing capabilities, the switch handles inter-VLAN routing, static routes, RIP, and HSRP at the network edge.
Shipped with the IP Base (IPB) software image, the WS-C3750G-12S-SD supports advanced QoS, ACLs, rate limiting, and basic Layer 3 routing out of the box — with an upgrade path to IP Services for advanced unicast and multicast routing. Ideal for wiring-closet aggregation, small-network backbones, and DC-powered environments, this switch is a proven workhorse for organizations maintaining or extending legacy Catalyst 3750 deployments. Note: This product is End-of-Life (EOL); it remains a cost-effective option for spares, replacements, and budget-conscious expansions of existing 3750 stacks.

SFP Compatibility: Supports Cisco 1000BASE SFP modules including GLC-SX-MMD (multimode), GLC-LH-SMD (single-mode), GLC-T (copper RJ-45), and GLC-ZX-SMD (extended reach). Third-party SFPs may require the service unsupported-transceiver command.
StackWise Cables: Requires CAB-STACK-50CM, CAB-STACK-1M, or CAB-STACK-3M stacking cables (sold separately) to form a stack ring.
Software: Ships with IP Base (IPB) image. Upgradeable to IP Services or Advanced IP Services via Cisco IOS license. Last supported IOS train for the 3750G platform should be verified against Cisco's download portal.
Power: This is a DC-powered model (–36 to –72 VDC). It is not compatible with AC power sources or the Cisco RPS 2300 redundant power system. Ensure your facility provides compliant DC power.
EOL Status: The Cisco Catalyst 3750G series reached End-of-Sale on January 30, 2013. No new Cisco TAC support contracts are available. This product is best suited for spares, lab use, or extending existing deployments.
