When paired with a second power supply in the same chassis, it enables 1+1 redundancy so that a single PSU failure does not impact switch operation.
On Catalyst 3750-X platforms, this power supply can also participate in Cisco StackPower, pooling power resources across up to four stacked switches for intelligent load sharing and failover. The C3KX-PWR-350WAC is ideal for non-PoE or light-PoE switch configurations where 350 watts provides sufficient headroom. Note that the Catalyst 3750-X platform has reached End-of-Life status; this power supply is available as a replacement spare to maintain existing deployments.

Built-In Thermal Management

Catalyst 3560-X and 3750-X data-only (non-PoE) switch models ship with a single power supply and a blank cover in the second bay. Installing a C3KX-PWR-350WAC in the second slot provides 1+1 power redundancy, a critical upgrade for switches serving production traffic in campus access or distribution layers.
StackPower Pool Expansion (3750-X Only)
In Catalyst 3750-X switch stacks, adding a second 350W PSU to each member increases the total shared power budget available through Cisco StackPower. - Do not operate the switch with an empty power supply slot. If only one PSU is installed, a blank cover (C3KX-PS-BLANK) must be installed in the second slot for proper chassis cooling.
- StackPower functionality is available only on Catalyst 3750-X switches; Catalyst 3560-X switches do not support StackPower.
